The Five Phases of the Web Design Process

A website’s user experience is a vital aspect of the design process. The site should be easy to navigate so that visitors can get the information they need. If a user is unable to find the information they need, they will leave the site and search for another one. Users should be able to see a clear picture of the information they are looking for before leaving. Once a user has found the information they are looking for, they should be able to close the browser window. This is an important part of the web design process.

The brief phase is the first contact between the client and the web design team. It is the most crucial part of the process because everything that is discussed will have an effect on the final outcome. If something is not discussed during this stage, it can cost the company money, relationships, and high quality results. A brief should include the most important areas of the project and give the web dev team all of the information they need to know. During this phase, the client and the web development team should give their all to the project.

The mockup phase is the most important step in the web design process. This is where page elements such as call-to-action buttons, thumbnail styles, PDF icons, and supporting graphics should be introduced. This helps in polishing the mockup design by establishing the look and feel of the site. Remember to only include the elements you want to see on the site and not in the header. During the mockup stage, only send a single style for the design. Having multiple designs will muddle the design process.
